Qwetu Student Residences
Nairobi's leading purpose-built student housing network

About the project
Qwetu is the student residence network developed by Acorn Holdings in Nairobi, a pioneer of purpose-built student accommodation in Kenya since 2017. Acorn operates five Qwetu residences across the capital (Ruaraka, Hurlingham, Parklands, Karen, Chiromo) totalling about 3,000 beds and home to more than 6,200 students from over 160 universities and colleges in Nairobi. The offer spans a mid-income segment, between $138 and $295 per bed per month, and an affordable mass-market range between $74 and $111. Each room is furnished (bed, mattress, wardrobe, desk, curtains) and fitted with a modern kitchenette (burner, microwave, fridge), WiFi, TV and shared laundry facilities. The residences provide 24-hour security and surveillance, communal spaces and services tailored to student life. Qwetu underpins the structure behind Africa's first student-housing REIT, launched by Acorn, durably shaping this segment in Nairobi.
