About the project
The Afreximbank African Trade Centre (AATC) in Abuja is a business complex developed by the African Export-Import Bank in the Central Business District of Nigeria's capital. The project comprises two modern, elegant, interconnected nine-storey towers built on 4th Avenue, near the Ministry of Finance. Delivered at a cost of around USD 120 million (close to NGN 195 billion) after 41 months of construction, the centre was commissioned on 10 April 2025 by President Bola Tinubu. It is the first in a planned network of six AATCs across the continent, with sites announced in Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt and Zimbabwe among others. These complexes are intended to house Afreximbank's trade capabilities and give economic actors access to integrated services, strategic data and networking spaces to boost intra-African trade. The Italian-Nigerian firm Cappa & D'Alberto Plc served as main contractor, working to designs by SVA International.
