Moka Smart City
Mauritius' most advanced smart city, in the island's heart

About the project
Moka Smart City is a new town developed for over ten years by the ENL group in the centre of Mauritius, between Helvétia and Saint Pierre. Spanning more than 500 hectares, it is being built under the Smart City Scheme, a government programme launched in 2015 to create intelligent urban ecosystems integrating offices, retail, residences and leisure. Moka received its Smart City Certificate from the Economic Development Board in 2017, opening freehold ownership to foreign buyers. The masterplan has been under implementation for over fifteen years; its business hub Vivéa Business Park, created in 2007 from the conversion of the former Mon Désert Alma sugar factory, hosts 65 companies and more than 1,500 employees across nearly 36,000 m² of offices, with an expansion plan doubling its footprint. The city combines residential districts, schools, a sports and wellness institute, shopping centres, restaurants and green spaces linked by La Promenade, a linear park dedicated to soft mobility. Its first residential development is Les Promenades d'Helvétia.
