About the project
The Sonfonia-Lac social housing programme is developed by Kakandé Immo, the real-estate subsidiary of the Guicopres Group, on the Sonfonia-Lac site on the outskirts of Conakry. It comprises more than 30 R+4 buildings arranged around a central landscaped island, kept car-free and laid out with play and rest areas. The programme meets Guinea's strong housing demand and supports state initiatives through public-private partnerships, as part of the Grand Conakry Vision 2040 urban plan to decongest the capital. In May 2026 the Guinean state officially received 280 completed social housing units at Sonfonia-Lac, a ceremony that also marked the groundbreaking for a further 925-unit programme. Operations are coordinated by AGUIFIL, reflecting the rise of Guinean property development and the creation of new modern urban hubs around Conakry.
