Logements des travailleurs du Port Autonome de Dakar
691 homes for Port of Dakar workers, in Diamniadio

About the project
This social housing programme is intended for the workers of the Port Autonome de Dakar (PAD). It is led by Peacock Investments, the Senegalese subsidiary of Moroccan conglomerate Holmarcom, which signed an agreement with port staff under the "Un portuaire, un toit" (a port worker, a roof) initiative. The project provides for the construction of 691 F3 and F4 housing units, for an investment of around 10 billion CFA francs. Works, launched in 2016, take place in Diamniadio, a new town about 27 km from Dakar designed to relieve congestion in the capital. Peacock Investments' managing director, Adil Dbilij, committed to delivering all the homes over a three-year period, with the first tranche expected from 2017. The programme offers port employees a modern, affordable residential setting with payment facilities, in one of Senegal's key emerging urban and logistics hubs.
