About the project

Phakalane Golf Estate is Botswana's only residential golf estate, where every home surrounds an 18-hole championship golf course. Set within the Phakalane suburb, about 15 km north of central Gaborone, this secure gated community offers a lifestyle modelled on the world's finest leisure estates. The estate holds over 300 residential plots of roughly 1,000 to 1,400 sqm, hosting everything from upscale villas and lock-up-and-go apartments to large architect-designed mansions on plots exceeding 1,000 sqm. The international-standard course was designed by DDV Design Group (Douw van der Merwe): started in April 2000 and completed in June 2002, it features 15 dams, 75 bunkers and greens averaging about 700 sqm. The leafy neighbourhood combines retail centres, medical facilities, a nursery, primary and secondary schools, restaurants, a cinema and recreation. The Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel & Convention Centre, a 4-star hotel with conference facilities, overlooks the course.
