Lilayi City is a large 410-hectare mixed-use development in Lilayi, on Lusaka's southern outskirts, about 8 km from the city centre. Conceived as a city within a city, it escapes downtown overcrowding and congestion while offering outstanding connectivity: served by a network of four-lane roads linked to the Kafue Road (T2), Zambia's main trading route, it also enjoys dedicated rail siding access, a unique asset for logistics, warehousing and a future dry port. The master plan splits the land between residential (63 ha), commercial (66 ha), light industrial (66 ha), retail (16 ha), medical (5 ha), rail (14 ha) and a 35-ha green belt mixing sports fields and parkland, a rare luxury in Lusaka. The immediate surroundings include Baobab College, Lilayi Lodge, Chilanga Golf Club, Lilayi Polo Club and Lusaka South Country Club.
