About the project
The HLM Diaspora Sebikhotane programme is a real estate operation led by Senegal's national housing company, SN HLM, aimed primarily at Senegalese living abroad. It plans 500 serviced plots across 35 hectares in Sebikhotane, a locality east of Dakar on the corridor toward Diamniadio and Thies. Sebikhotane is among the areas added to SN HLM's expanded remit, alongside Bambilor, Maristes, Almadies, Saint-Louis and Kaolack, a move meant to speed up ongoing projects and open the way to new ones. The scheme fits SN HLM's mission to service plots, urbanise land, build rent-to-own homes and provide collective facilities, with a renewed focus on communication and digital services for the diaspora, which had previously invested without adequate feedback.
