About the project

Appolonia City is a large-scale new city developed by Rendeavour, one of Africa's largest urban land developers, on a 2,325-acre (roughly 941-hectare) site about 20 km northeast of central Accra, within the Greater Accra growth corridor. Conceived as a mixed-use, mixed-income development, the city combines residential communities, commercial districts, schools, healthcare, light industry and green spaces, all integrated and professionally managed. The project has obtained all local and national regulatory approvals, and site infrastructure (electricity, water, underground drainage, tarred roads) is already in place for its first occupants. Upon completion, targeted around 2027, Appolonia City aims to house roughly 100,000 residents with its own employment base, social amenities and urban governance arrangements. The development is built on land owned by the neighbouring Appolonia village community, under a partnership involving Rendeavour, village chiefs and elders. The master plan was designed by international firm SOM.
